Round 13:  A very scrappy game was played today with many attempts at goal but very few actually even making it towards the nets........a bit more concentration and team work may be needed guys.

The best goal for the day  I would have to say was an own goal, a fluke shot which came off the back of a Rosebud boot and just seemed to float over the top of everyone and right into our goals!!!

Final Score:  Peninsula 3, Rosebud 1

Round 12 - BYE - see photo gallery here

A very entertaining game between the Under 18’s  and ‘The Veterans’ was played today.  Some very strange decisions were made by the Ref (Davo)……

·        50 mts given for not giving the ball back, in favour of ‘The Veterans’

·        A goal disallowed to the Under 18’s due to a fellow team mate being topless

·        Referee interference by kicking the ball himself (several times………)

·         A girlie free kick at goal to ‘The Veterans’ as our goalie didn’t have his gloves on when he stopped one of their attempts at goal

·        A penalty shot called as the Under 18’s goalie was said to be a little too rough towards ‘The Veterans’

·        Final whistle blew just as the Under 18’s were about to get their 3rd goal (coincidence or what!!!!!!!!!)

For the spectators, there were some pretty scary sights to be seen on ‘The Veterans’ bench….with bare chests clearly visible during top changes (sunnies were definitely a necessity)

Overall everyone really enjoyed the game.  Special thanks to all the parents who played and congratulations must go to Meredith Woodward who was the only woman brave (or stupid) enough to get out there and play with all the guys.  Lets hope that all ‘The Veterans’ will be able to walk again by this time next year……..I am sure they all found muscles they didn’t know existed until after the game.

FINAL SCORE: UNDER 18’s 2, THE VETERANS 1

Round 11.

Today we faced the top team in our league.  It was a tough, tension filled game on a very rough and muddy pitch (nobody came off clean........)
Our goalie Johannes certainly earned top marks today making some absolutely superb saves (the final score could have been a lot worse), while at the other end Dan tried his hardest several times to beat the opposition and get the goals we desperately wanted.
Final score:  Peninsula 0, Berwick 9

Round 10

Another GREAT win this week against a real rival team, Chelsea.  The guys kept the pressure up all game.  It was a full on team effort, everyone played at a high level.  The score was 0-0 at 1/2 time, then an amazing goal was kicked by Dan, which set the ball rolling.......so to speak!!!

Final score: Peninsula 2, Chelsea 1

Round 9:

A great game was played today with everyone putting in and playing as a team, which certainly paid off in the end.  It was a very close, evenly matched game and definitely got a little tense at times.
It is also great to always see so many of our parents supporting the boys, even on the chilly days like today!!  I am sure, deep down inside the guys do appreciate the support..........
Final Score:  Peninsula 3,  Seaford 2

Round 7:  A GREAT game was played today against the Pines.  Everyone put in 110% and kept the pressure on all day.  The guys forcing the Pines to make mistakes which they then took advantage of.

Well done Guys………

Final score: Peninsula 1, Pines 0

Round 6:  Langwarrin's back line certainly knew how to keep our chances of goals becoming a reality today with several good tries being made.

Keep trying guys………don't give up

Final score: Peninsula 0, Langwarrin 3

Round 5:  The boys faced a very in-tune Heatherton Utd team today who gave them a very tough time in the first half with us being 5-0 down.  After a few position changes in the second half the boys worked well and managed to fend them off a little better but were still unable to finish the forward chances that they had.
Keep your chins up guys............
Final score: Peninsula 0, Heatherton Utd 7

Round 4:  Today the boys where back....fresh after a week off and eagre for their first win of the season.  The first goal came fast but was scored by Rosebud, our reply wasn't far after.  Our second goal came from a marvellous strike from Toby.  The team was back at it's best, everyone played a great game........

Final score: Peninsula 11,  Rosebud 1

Round 2:  A great game by all the boys but Berwick City are a very strong team that definitely out ran us and seemed to out number us.  Our goalie Johannes made some extra great saves on the day....

Final score: Peninsula 0, Berwick City 12

Round 1:  Our first game of the season was in our brand new strips and all the boys where eager to play. All the boys played well as a team but Chelsea finished the top team of last season and still proved to be a tough team...

Final score: Peninsula 0, Chelsea 3
