2012

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is thrilled to be kicking off the Optus Small Sided Football season for 2012!

While the price of a player’s registration has remained the same this season, the value of taking part in Optus Small-Sided football has increased significantly.  The introduction of a participation pack consisting of a gym bag with a built-in boot section, shin guards, a Socceroos football, a ball pump and a participation medal will be given to each Optus Small-Sided Football Participant.

The participation packs will be sent to all junior clubs around the state.

FFV will determine the number of packs sent to clubs by checking how many players have registered to Optus Small-Sided Football through MyFootballClub.  If players are not registered through MyFootballClub by 5pm Friday March 30th they will not be sent a participation pack.

If you need information on how players register on MyFootballClub, please give FFV a call on 9474 1800 or contact the club registrars.

Packs will be delivered to the club's mailing address by Friday April 6th.

First Regional HUB matches - 21/05/2011

Saturday saw us host the first of our seasons U6/7 regional Hub SSF football days .Skye Utd  and  Hampton Park were welcome visitors at Ballam Park and proved worthwhile opponents in some terrifically entertaining football .The real exciting thing though that our youngest teams performed fantastically and are going from strength to strength. To this end Strikers can look forward to a continuing huge crop of very talented young players going forward over the next few years.

31/04/2001 - First day of the season...

Operationally a good start to the weekend with very very good feedback from the visiting teams as to the way things ran and the way the games were lead .Particular mention in dispatches to the R Harrington boy who cast aside his presidential duties and grabbed the whistle out of my may hand to successfully organise the  us v Mornington u 9’ Joeys game .Thanks also to Robbie Miscamble ,Chris White and Josh Simmons for looking after their games with particular mention to all those children who played organised football for the first time today.

Forget Cake Boss or Ultimate Cake Off Strikers have uncovered our own Ace of Cakes .Yvonne McClure mother of Liam in our 13A’s who has joined the club  this season has revealed today that this family has more than just soccer talent. Just in her spare time Yvonne knocked out this little beauty to share around the boys for a Saturday training session they had organised .I’m sure you’ll all agree if this is what Yvonne can knock up in her spare time yesterday . I shudder to think what she could do if she put her mind to things.

SSF

Small-Sided Football (SSF) is a modified version of football for boys and girls aged 5 - 11 introduced at the beginning of 2008 by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a nationwide junior development program.

SSF is about children learning and experiencing football in a structured way which both meets their developmental needs and, above all, provides them with LOTS OF FUN in a scaled down version of the adult game .

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has provided a Small Sided Football (SSF) website which contains lots of valuable information as well as lots of FUN STUFF for the kids to do when they are not outside playing football.
